Aurelian Craiutu and Sheldon Gellar (former Ostrom Workshop associate member) have published a chapter in a new book edited by Ido de Haan (Utrecht) and Matthijs Lok (Amsterdam), The Politics of Moderation in Modern European History (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). Professor Craiutu's books on moderation provided the impetus for this original work at a conference at the University of Amsterdam in 2016. In their chapter entitled "Moderation: A Radical Virtue," Craiutu and Gellar explore the American tradition of political moderation from George Washington to Saul Alinsky in whose works they find surprising parallels with some themes related to moderation.
